Dennis Kuhl is really “Cool”

by Bridget ~ December 2nd, 2008

Last night Dennis Kuhl took my family out for dinner to the Manhattan Supper Club.  At dinner he donated over $5,400 that he raised by having a baseball game at Angels stadium.  The baseball game was in honor of his father, who recently passed away and loved the game of baseball.  He had me come and throw out the first pitch to start the game.  All of the players came to the pitchers mound and shook my hand.  He even had a jersey made for me with my name on the back.  My brother was really jealous.

My Training

by LindaB ~ November 22nd, 2008

Today I walked and ran to Yogurtland with my friend Sophie. It was 1.3 miles to get there, then we had yogurt, and it was 1.3 miles to get home, all uphill! It was kind of hard coming back, especially because it is uphill. But I made it and I’m glad about that!

Never, Never, Never give up!

Hi, my name is Bridget and I am 11 years old. I am in 6th grade. I want to run in the 5k at the OC Marathon because I want to try to raise a lot of money to help other kids with all different disabilities. I have cerebral palsy but I think I can do anything that I really put my mind to.

On my blog I will be posting information about my training progress and Team Smile’s  progress in raising money for other kids with disabilities.

The goal of Team S.M.I.L.E. is to attract a large group of family and friends that will volunteer on behalf of UCP of Orange County. The are many ways you can volunteer your time to make this a successful endeavor. If you have any questions about volunteering please contact Linda Beresford, or signup by going to your Volunteer page.
